The ODASTRA story
Before it was an app, ODASTRA was, above all, a deeply human story.
The story of a man going through the hardest period of his entire life.
In just a few months, everything collapses. His company goes into liquidation. His partner leaves him. The financial collapse is total. He has nothing left. Everything that gave him stability and security slips away, piece by piece. His social ties vanish with the rest. The people who were there when things were good disappear in turn. Judgment replaces support. Criticism replaces understanding. Doors close, one after another.
For the first time in his life, he finds himself completely alone. Alone in a social void. Alone in an emotional void. Alone in a financial void. Alone with himself.
At the time, he doesn’t understand it yet. He believes his suffering comes only from what he is going through. He will later discover that this crisis also revealed something far deeper. As if every wound that had been silently shaping his life for years had suddenly been brought into the light. As if everything that was asking to be seen could no longer be avoided.
His inner world tips into a permanent state of survival. Tears become a daily occurrence. Nightmares take over his nights. Sleep disappears. Appetite disappears. His very body seems to carry the weight of what he is going through. Every day feels like a struggle just to make it to the next. The pain becomes so intense that, at times, it seems impossible to bear.
Nothing makes sense anymore. The future he had imagined no longer exists. He is lost. Deeply lost.
That is when he meets the man who will quite literally save his life: an expert clinical psychologist with more than thirty years of experience helping people through trauma and emotional wounds.
Through their conversations, he discovers a method. A method he doesn’t even believe in. At this point in his life, he no longer believes in anything. He has no hope left. He sees no way out. Even though he doesn’t truly believe in it, it is the last chance he gives himself. After all, he has nothing left to lose. So he tries. Because otherwise, what would be the point?
And against all odds, something begins to change.
For the first time, everything makes sense. For the first time, he understands what trauma, emotional wounds, repeating patterns and all the conditioning built up over the years really are, and how silently they shape an entire life. For the first time, he understands that what he is living through today doesn’t come only from the crisis. He understands that much older wounds have been influencing his life for years. He understands that parts of him have remained frozen in the past. And above all, he understands that what was making him suffer was not his fate.
Day after day, the process takes hold, without effort, without struggle, without forcing anything. Something transforms deep within him. The old mechanisms begin to lose their grip. The defense behaviors gradually fall away. The masks come off. The wounds begin to close. And behind it all, little by little, the man he truly is reappears.
What he experiences goes beyond anything he thought possible. Where he believed he would have to carry his pain for the rest of his life, he discovers a method capable of bringing about deep, lasting transformation, simply by listening.
Then his life begins to change. Hope returns. Energy returns. The will to live returns. A new path becomes possible.
In just a few weeks, what had seemed impossible a few months earlier becomes reality. The man who had lost all hope gradually regains his energy, his vision, his ability to picture a future and, above all, his deepest identity, freed from the automatic mechanisms, the defense behaviors and the wounds that had been silently steering his life.
For the first time in a long time, he is no longer surviving. He is living again.
His inner world has changed. And that change begins to show everywhere around him. Things start moving again.
A few months later, the psychologist makes a remark he will never forget. In his view, the intensity of what he had been through, and the way he chose to face it, had allowed him to accomplish in a few months an inner journey that many people sometimes take years to complete.
At the time, he wasn’t aware of it. He was simply trying to survive.
And with this return to life, something becomes clear.
This method didn’t just help him get through one of the hardest periods of his life. It helped him come out of it. It quite literally saved his life.
It allowed him to meet himself for the first time. To choose himself for the first time. To finally become himself.
For the first time, he discovers what life looks like when it is no longer seen through the wounds of the past, the masks built to survive, or the stories we end up telling ourselves to bear the pain.
For the first time, he discovers who he truly is.
That is when a promise is born.
A promise he made to himself in the depths of that hell.
If he makes it out of this existential crisis alive, if he makes it through this hell to the very end, then he will do something.
He will be the one who stands up and says: enough.
He refuses to let other human beings go through the same suffering without knowing that a solution exists.
He refuses to let other people spend years imprisoned by their wounds, their trauma and their repeating patterns, without access to what helped him rise again.
- He wants to do his part.
- He wants to give meaning to what he went through.
- He wants to bring the method that gave him his life back, when he thought it was lost, to as many people as possible.
That is the moment the ODASTRA project truly begins to come to life.
Over time, something also becomes obvious to both men. One holds a method capable of profoundly transforming lives. The other carries a vision: making that method accessible to as many people as possible.
What began as an encounter becomes a shared project.
Today, they share the same conviction: this method must become accessible everywhere, at any moment, to everyone who needs it.
And that is how ODASTRA was truly born.
From the alliance between more than thirty years of clinical expertise and the vision of an entrepreneur determined to make this transformation accessible to as many people as possible, and on a large scale.
Looking back, one thing has become clear.
That encounter did not happen by chance.
One encounter. One transformation. A promise that became ODASTRA.
A method that allowed a man to reclaim his life when he believed it was lost, and that he turned into a mission: to make it accessible to as many people as possible.
“Today, I understand that out of my chaos, a mission greater than myself was born: ODASTRA.”
For Émilie, whom I would have given anything to be able to help. And for everyone going through this pain today, and for those who love them. It is for them, too, that ODASTRA exists.
